Planning Your Visit
Please be aware you will as part of your tour experience uneven ground, strobe lighting effects and a simulated ride, which is not recommended for pregnant women or those with back problems or heart complaints.
Warm clothing and sensible footwear is advised
Please allow at least three hours to get the most from your visit - a guided tour takes one and three quarter hours.
Simulated Ride – Height restrictions
Following recent advice from Health and Safety inspectors, we have found it necessary to introduce a height restriction on the Simulated Ride at the end of the Underground Experience.
The restriction is that persons under 1.1 metres may not ride.
Children between 1.1 metres and 1.2 metres must be accompanied by an adult

Open Tue - Sun 10am - 6pm (last tour 4pm) Closed from Christmas day to Jan 3rd
Disabled Access
Rhondda Heritage Park is fully accessible for disabled visitors.
Facilities include - reserved car parking - toilets - lift to the first floor - ramps throughout the site.
Assisted access is available for wheelchairs and pushchairs - even underground!

- How long does the tour take?
The tour takes one and three quarter hours. To get the best from your visit we recommend you allow 3 hours
- How far underground do I go?
Not as far as you think! Part of the tour is underground – for Health and Safety reasons the rest of the tour is simulated
- What should I wear?
Warm, comfortable clothing and sensible footwear is advised.
- Do I need to make a booking?
It is not necessary for individuals to make a booking in advance, however, during busy times you may have to wait for the next available tour. You can of course pre-book your tour if you wish, please contact Reception on 01443 682036.
Group and schools are strongly advised to pre-book.
- How can I pay?
All major credit/debit cards are accepted, also cheques when accompanied by a valid bankers card. For groups, we can invoice after your visit, please let us know if you require this service when you make your reservation.
- How will I know if the visit is suitable for my group?

- Can I take a wheelchair/ pushchair underground?
Yes, access is available for wheelchairs and pushchairs throughout the site including underground with assistance.
- Where can I eat?
The 'Valley View' Restaurant is located in the Visitor Centre and serves a wide range of food and drink, from quick snacks to full meals. The Restuarant is fully licenced.
